I have an 88 Golf 1.8L that is having some very strange oil pressure
problems. The light and the buzzer will come on at 2200 rpm and stay on
until rpms are increased to 2300+. The light flickers at idle, but the
buzzer does not come on.
Oil is full and relatively fresh (20w-50). Oil pressure sensors are new
(high and low) Oil pump is new. What am I missing? Any response would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot for your help, I'll try those things first thing tomorrow and
let you know the outcome.

My guess would be that you didnt use original equipment sensors. Replace them
with real VW parts and the problem should go away. I just had this same exact
problem this weekend. Good luck.

Brian,

I also have a 88 Golf and have exactly the same problem with the oil
buzzer. I'm going to change both sensors to see if it goes away and I'll
post the results here. Please let me know if you have any other clues.

Thanks

Victor
